Change of Focus

I am very new at this blog thing, so I will probably ramble a bit until I get the hang of it. No one may ever even read my ramblings, but what a great way to get my thoughts out.

I love the way God changes our focus - don't you. Do you ever find yourself in a situation or circumstance that seems so consuming, that you switch your focus from what it should be on? I have been doing that a lot lately. For some reason, I have let myself believe that I could change things or that somehow, my plans or desires are better than His. Life can be so frustrating sometimes when we let those frustrations consume us instead of giving them to the Lord and letting Him carry them. It is not a fun place to be! Well today is my bible study, we normally meet at my house at 12:30 and by 12:45, no one had shown up. I was loading Jack into the car to run some errands when the door bell rang. Everyone was here, just running behind. We are doing Beth Moore's study - John, the Beloved Disciple. We put the video in and Beth started speaking and wouldn't you know it, she was speaking right to me. Isn't amazing how God has just what you need, right when you need it. He shifted my focus today - back to Him where it should be. He is in control, He is sovereign!! The circumstances that seemed so important earlier, don't seem to matter so much right now. I am not saying my focus won't get blurry again, but right now I am trusting Him and leaning into Him a little closer because He is all I need!

I am so excited that you have now joined blogland! Watch out - it can be addictive :-)

Great post! Something I love about blogging is that it can be such a powerful tool for allowing God to speak to others through what He's teaching us.

I needed to hear this today - my focus has been too wrapped up in things I can't change the last couple of days. Remember how Peter was cruising on the water just fine until he stopped focusing on Jesus? And, predictably, just like Peter I sink and become overcome by waves of distress when I lose that focus. But aren't you glad we serve a God that reaches down for us as soon as cry out for Him (over and over!!)??!!

By the way - y'all were too cute lighting the candle at church on Sunday! :-)

Love ya!
